Keeping people happy, healthy, and in work

Health and Wellbeing (“HWB”) Inspiration is a collaborative effort founded by two North West U.K. based organisations, Aspire and PACE, to help other organisations achieve a healthy workplace by keeping their staff happy, healthy, and in work. We achieve this through our evidence-based strategic approaches and easy-to-use toolkit, both of which we offer to organisations to provide a bespoke service to suit their needs.

How can HWB Inspiration help you achieve a healthy workplace?

Each organisation is different, so will be at different points in their journey in developing and implementing their approach to Health and Wellbeing. Our framework and strategic approach, along with our years of experience, strong evidence-base, and industry connections allow us to provide unique support for organisations of many sizes, backgrounds, and industries. We want to make sure as many organisations as possible have the chance to keep their staff happy, healthy, and in work.

Why should you trust us to improve your organisation’s workplace health and wellbeing?

Over the last 10 years we have worked to help individuals, teams and organisations develop and implement strategies to achieve high performance.  We have worked in both public and private sectors including education, NHS, and Health and Safety Executive.

You can read about HWB Inspiration’s key product, the HWB Baseline Assessment Framework, and why it benefits your organisation to invest in workplace health and wellbeing below.

Over the last 10 years we have worked to help individuals, teams and organisations develop and implement strategies to achieve high performance. We have worked with a range of private and public sector organisations including health, education, law, local government, voluntary sector, and other industries.

Tools:

We have two key tools which we bring together to keep your staff happy, healthy, and in work. The first is our Health and Wellbeing assessment toolkit, and the second is our evidence-based strategic approach to workplace health and wellbeing.

In 2017 we were commissioned by the Manchester Health and Wellbeing Board to review what NHS, Local Authorities, and Voluntary sectors were doing to improve the wellbeing of their workforce.  As a result of this work we developed a unique Health and Wellbeing Assessment Framework and range of support interventions. We developed this framework into an easy-to-use toolkit, which our clients can use to assess their organisation’s workplace health and wellbeing including key strengths and areas for improvement.

We’ve created an infographic to let you know about our toolkit, and how it can improve your workplace. You can check it out here – HWB Assessment: Why should you invest in workplace health and wellbeing?

You can access a preview copy of our HWB Assessment Toolkit here – HWB Assessment: Toolkit Preview

What does the HWB assessment toolkit do?

Our Health and Wellbeing Assessment Framework enables you to:

  • Develop your strategy through assessing your current approach i.e. what are you doing well? Where can you improve?
  • Assess and capture the impact of your strategy

The framework is unique because:

  • It assesses four areas of Health and Wellbeing including mental health and disability and long-term conditions (no other Health and Wellbeing tool has this focus)
  • You can self-assess against the criteria and develop your own strategy, we can support you to undertake the assessment, or we can take it off your hands and conduct the assessment for you
  • The framework is editable, meaning you can use it periodically to capture and compare organisational performance and build on your strategy’s success over time

Our framework, along with our years of experience, strong evidence-base, and industry connections allows us to provide unique support for organisations of many sizes, backgrounds, and industries. We want to make sure as many organisations as possible have the chance to keep their staff happy, healthy, and in work.

Health and Wellbeing Programme is highly commended

HWBinspiration was commissioned by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership to seek feedback on how the GM wellbeing programme has supported individuals and teams to focus on and enhance their wellbeing.  The Partnership also wanted to use the feedback to inform a refresh of their GM Wellbeing Toolkit.  The feedback highlighted many benefits, including a greater focus on individual and team wellbeing as a result of accessing the programme. The feedback was well received and informed the re-fresh of the toolkit “HWBInspiration were flexible and responsive to our needs, we appreciated the robust approach they took to the evaluation and provided us with a well-structured and useful report that has helped inform the planning of our programme as we moved into the new Integrated Care Structures”.   Details of the GM Wellbeing Programme can be found here.

Supporting GP’s to look after their own health and wellbeing

Case studies:

We have completed several case studies to support the work we do at HWB Inspiration, which you can read here:

Manchester Health and Wellbeing Board Workplace Health Assessment

This report was published in June 2017 after Manchester Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB) made work and health a strategic priority, and set a goal that member organisations should be exemplar employing organisations in relation to workplace health. This triggered a request to “take a transparent look” at how organisations across Manchester were performing in this area.

HWB Assessment Report Case Study

Aspire and PACE were commissioned by Manchester Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB) to take a transparent look at health and wellbeing in the workplace across the health and care system in Manchester. The commissioned work spanned 12 months. This report outlines the findings and recommendations.

Evaluation Case Study

Aspire and PACE’s Health and Wellbeing Baseline Assessment (HWBBA) project began in May 2016 and concluded July 2017 with the production of several outputs. This report takes a look at what we achieved and evaluates HWBBA’s uses, successes, and areas for improvement.

Partnership Case Study

Here, Aspire and PACE take a retrospective look at the Health and Wellbeing Baseline Assessment (HWBAA). We reflect on our approach, learning, partnership working, and impact for our commissioners.
